HEC announces Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program for Session 2022-23

The Hungarian Government program is for Bachelor's, One-Tier Master's, Master's, and Ph.D. studies.

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program

The Higher Education Commission has announced the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program (2022-23) for Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir students.

The Hungarian Government program is for Bachelor’s, One-Tier Master’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. studies.

“The Higher Education Commission is the only nominating agency in the subject scholarship program,” the government body said.

The last date for applying is 2 pm (PST) on the 17th of January, 2022.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan/Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Candidate must be between 18-22 years for Undergraduate programs. The age limit should not exceed 35 years for students applying for Master’s degree programs. In the case of Ph.D. programs, the age limit is 40 years.
  • The candidate must have completed his/her Intermediate or equivalent for application in Undergraduate Program. However, One-Tier Master’s degree, i.e., DVM, DPharm, etc.
  • Students must have completed 16 years of bachelor’s/or equivalent Degree for applying for Postgraduate Program.
  • The student must have completed 18 years Degree/or equivalent for application in Ph.D. Program.
  • Applicants must attest attached Certificates/Transcripts/Degrees by the attesting authorities.
  • It is the sole responsibility of candidates applying for any professional degree (Medical, Engineering, Nursing, Architecture, Law, Veterinary Medicine, etc.) to confirm their accreditation from the respective councils.
  • IELTS/TOEFL scores as required.
  • All applicants must submit a medical certificate of satisfactory health condition (issued not earlier than the 15th of November 2021. A written certificate from a medic to prove that the applicant does not have the following diseases: Hepatitis A, B, C, AIDS, or any other epidemic health condition)
  • In case of final selection, candidates will have to submit a bond on legal paper to HEC that they will not change discipline after the final award of scholarship and immediately after completion of their degree. Moreover, they will return to Pakistan to serve the country as prescribed by the HEC. In case of failure, HEC reserves the right to recover a penalty amount from candidates or their guarantor as prescribed by the HEC.
  • Applicants must complete all other prerequisites set by the host Hungarian university/Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
  • In the final selection, the candidate has to submit a bond agreement.
