Here are the five longest losing streaks in franchise T20 cricket

Babar Azam

Nothing is working for Babar Azam’s led Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). They have now gone nine matches without a victory in the PSL, eight this edition and a defeat against the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 6 eliminator.

If Karachi Kings lose their next match, they will become the only sixth team to lose ten in a row in men’s franchise T20 leagues. Here are the five longest losing streaks in franchise T20 cricket:

5. Antigua Hawksbills: 10 defeats

Marlon Samuels

The Caribbean Premier League team, who didn’t continue for long in the tournament, won only three matches in the 16 they played. They were then replaced by St Kitts and Nevis franchise for CPL 2015.

4. Delhi Daredevils: 11 defeats

Delhi daredevils

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise suffered 11 consecutive defeats. During the IPL 2014, Delhi Daredevils lost 11 matches in a row. They finally got a victory in the IPL 2015 to put an end to their poor form.

3. Pune Warriors India: 11 defeats

Pune Warriors

The Warriors brief existence in the IPL is something no team in the world would want to remember. During their three years in the IPL, they lost 33 matches and won just 12. The Pune Warriors lost 11 matches in 2012-13.

2. St Lucia Zouks/Stars: 14 defeats

St Lucia Zouks

The St Lucia Zouks started the CPL 2016 quite well but their defeat against Trinbago Knight Riders meant they had to wait over two years for their next win.

They changed their name from Zouks to Stars but their fate remained the same. In the CPL 2017, they suffered 9 defeats and one game ended without any result. It is the only winless campaign in the history of CPL.

1. Sydney Thunder: 19 defeats

Sydney thunders

After losing the third game of Big Bash League (BBL)‘s first edition, Sydney Thunders lost all of their matches until the seventh game of the BBL 3. During the BBL 2012-13, they lost all of their matches to become the only team to lose every game of a BBL campaign.
