Here are the new prices of Pak Suzuki Motor Company’s cars after the price decrease
The rupee has been consistently rising against the dollar for the past couple of weeks.
Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited announced that the prices of multiple models have been reduced by Rs75,000 to Rs199,000. The new price tags are already in effect, and the company had closed advanced vehicle bookings since 1st July.
The rupee has been consistently rising against the dollar for the past couple of weeks. This has resulted in automobile companies dicing the price tags on their vehicles, and the latest company to take such a step is PSMCL.
The fall in the price is undoubtedly an unpredictable step, as in the first week of August, the company had raised the rates by Rs314,000 to Rs661,000. PSMCL justified its decision by linking it to the rupee devaluation against the dollar. The company has also temporarily shut down the car production plants from 18th August to 19th August, due to a shortage of parts. On the other hand, the motorcycle plant will remain operational, and won’t be closed down.
After the decrease, here is the new rate list:

Alto VX | Rs1.699 million | Cultus VXL | Rs3.024 million |
Alto VXR | Rs1.976 million | Cultus AGS | Rs3.234 million |

Wagon VXR | Rs2.421 million | Swift CVT | Rs3.420 million |

Increase in car prices
Prior to this, the Indus Motor Company (IMC) announced a price hike, which increased the price of its completely knocked-down units to the range of Rs590,000 to Rs3.16 million.
The company remarked that due to the government-imposed levy of CVT on all 1,300cc and above vehicles, increase in raw material prices, and transport costs, the prices have gone up.
