What is a sister city?

A sister city is a long-term partnership between two populations in two countries.

A relationship is officially recognized after the appointed official from both communities sign off on an agreement to become sister cities.

Sister cities pursue several activities and thematic areas, including municipal, business, trade, educational, and cultural exchanges and projects.

Note: This list only includes cities that have formally entered into a sister city relationship with Pakistani cities. This list does NOT include those cities that have established informal ties or are intending to become sister cities.
