Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial government has removed 48 hospitals from the Sehat Card Plus’ panel.
The KP Health Department has terminated the services of these hospitals after they failed to fulfill the criteria of Sehat Card Plus. The announcement was made official on Twitter, where it was remarked that they couldn’t meet the necessary service standards. Following this, the government suspended these hospitals and removed them from the initiative.
Around nine hospitals in Mardan have been removed from the program, five in Battagram, four in Charsadda and Lower Dir each, three in Peshawar, two in Nowshera, seven in Swabi, one each in DI Khan, Abbottabad, Bannu, Hangu, Haripur, Kohat, and Malakand. There are also other hospitals that have been removed from the Sehat Card initiative.

A few of the hospitals are listed below:
- Qazi Medical Center
- Al-Syed Hospital
- Allied Specialist Hospital
- City Poly Clinic Medical and Surgical Centre
- ZIA Medical Complex
- DarulShifa Hospital
- Hassan Medical Complex
This move has also been appreciated by those people who were let down by their own experiences at a number of hospitals enrolled in the scheme. The main reason for this removal has been the hospitals’ failure to meet the required standards of services. Similarly, the assessment of hospitals will continue, and those who are unable to meet the criteria will then be removed from the program.
