Here’s how Arab world protested against India over blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Muslims around the globe, particularly the Arab World, has strongly protested against the derogatory statements of the spokespersons of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Protest by Qatar

Qatar summoned Indian envoy Deepak Mittal and registered a strong protest as well as expressing its disappointment over remarks made by the BJP spokespersons. A diplomatic note was handed to the Indian envoy by the Qatar’s Foreign Affairs Minister Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi expressing “the disappointment of the State of Qatar and its total rejection and condemnation to the controversial remarks made by an official in the ruling party in India against Prophet Mohammed.”

Protest by Kuwait

India’s Ambassador Sibi George was summoned by Kuwait and it strongly condemned India’s ruling party’s spokespersons “abusive statements” against the Prophet of Islam. “The continuation of abusive statements without deterrence or punishment will constitute to increasing aspects of extremism and hatred and undermining elements of moderation, noting that issuing such statements reflects a clear ignorance of the message of peace and tolerance of our Islamic religion, and the great role Islam has played in building civilizations in all countries of the world, including India,” it said in a statement.

Saudi Arabia’s condemnation

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia, it expressed its condemnation and denounced the statements made by the BJP spokeswoman, insulting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Bahrain’s condemnation

Bahrain in its condemnation urged to stress the importance of respecting all religious beliefs, symbols and personalities, and the concerted efforts of the international community to spread the values of moderation, tolerance, and dialogue between religions and civilizations. It also called on to confront “extremist ideas that feed sedition and religious, sectarian or racial hatred”.

Oman’s Grand Mufti announces boycott of Indian products

Following the derogatory statements by the spokespersons of India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Grand Mufti of Oman Sheikh Ahmad bin Hamad Al-Khalil has announced the boycott of Indian products.
