The historic Australia tour of Pakistan didn’t just restore the cricket world’s confidence in the security situation of Pakistan but also benefited the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) massively on the financial side.

The Aussies visited Pakistan for the time in over two decades. The visiting team won the test match series and T20I series while Pakistan got its hand on the ODI series trophy.

In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on its social media, Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja revealed that they generated a profit of around two billion rupees from PAKvAUS series. He added that defeating India in the T20 World Cup took Pakistan’s cricket to new heights.

“It’s effect you saw in the PSL as well where people owned this team, which also helped our commercial angle. So, from commercial aspect, I think we have broken all the records. I think we will generate profit around two billion rupees from this [Australia] tour, which is humongous.”

Ramiz Raja admitted that the country is still behind in terms of cricket infrastructure. He went on to add that he was waiting for Australia series to conclude so that he can turn his focus towards coaching, training and education of youngsters.

Regarding his proposal of a four-nation Super Series, Ramiz Raja said that Cricket Australia has welcomed it. However, the other three stakeholders – the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and the ICC are yet to respond.
