Here’s how much salary PCB was paying former CEO Wasim Khan
The details of Wasim Khan's salary have been revealed.
The details of the salary and other perks and privileges of theformer Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief executive officer (CEO) – Wasim Khan – have finally been revealed, as reported by a local media outlet.
According to Daily Jang, Wasim Khan was brought to the PCB with an attractive package of Rs. 26 lakh, five star privileges and full powers. Furthermore, he was also getting a daily allowance of $900 on England tours and $600 on other international tours.
Wasim Khan was appointed as the CEO of the PCB in 2019 on athree year contract but this is the first time his salary has been revealed. On Wednesday, the cricket board confirmed that the CEO of PCB has resigned.

According to reports in the local media, he resigned after developing differences with the new PCB’s boss, Ramiz Raja. After being elected as the chairman of the cricket board, Raja had refused to share details about his plans regarding Wasim Khan.
He had also hinted at a major overhaul in the cricket board, stating that 90% of the PCB officials should be sacked. As soon as he took the charge of the cricket board’s matters, there were rumours of many people losing their jobs.
The first one to lose their jobs were the two coaches, Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis. Moreover, the rumours of differences between Babar Azam and Raja had also been part of the news headlines. However, both the individuals denied all the rumours and speculations.
Wasim Khan’s Profile:
Khan made history when he became the first British-born Pakistani-origin muslim to play professional cricket in England. He started his cricket journey when he was selected for the Warwickshire Under 13s team in 1983. Later on, he also went on to represent the England under 19s.
Although, his cricket career wasn’t as successful as he must have hoped but in October 2014 the Leicestershire County Cricket Club appointed him the Chief Executive.
The former chairman PCB Ehsan Mani, considering his experience and success at the Leicestershire County Cricket Club, appointed him as the CEO of PCB. Following Mani’s decision against extending his stay at the PCB, Wasim Khan also resigned a few weeks later.
