Here’s the Forbes highest paid athletes 2022 list
Forbes has officially revealed the highest paid athletes list for the year 2022.
Paris Saint-Germain and Argentina’s star Lionel Messi has been named as the highest paid athlete. The seven times Ballon d’Or winner earned a grand total of $130 million USD.
Out of the total $130 million, he earned $75 million from his contract with PSG and the rest of $55 million came from endorsements.
LeBron James is second on the list just behind Leo Messi with a total earnings of $121.2 million, $41.2 million on-field and $80 million off-field.
Portugal and Manchester United‘s star Cristiano Ronaldo was named as the world’s third highest paid athletes with a total earnings of $115 million, $60 million on-field and $55 million off-field.
Brazil and PSG superstar Neymar Jr. with $95 million and three-time NBA champion Stephen Curry with $92.8 million were ranked as the Forbes fourth and fifth highest paid athletes in 2022 respectively.
Another NBA player Kevin Durant raked in $95 million over the last 12 months to take the sixth spot on the list. Roger Federer’s total earnings of $90.7 million made him the seventh highest paid athlete of 2022.
The last three spots on the list went to Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez ($90 million), Tom Brady ($83.9 million) and Giannis Antetokounmpo ($80.9 million).
