Herschelle Gibbs openly talks about BCCI threatening him over participating in KPL

Former South African great Herschelle Gibbs has exposed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over issuing him threats for participating in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL). He was speaking at an event.

He said that the honorary secretary of BCCI Jay Shah and President Sourav Ganguly threatened him not to participate in the KPL or else he will not be allowed in India for cricket related activities.

It is pertinent to mention that last year, the former cricketer had claimed that he had received threats from BCCI and now he has talked about it openly. According to Herschelle Gibbs, Graeme Smith had told him about Jay Shah’s message two weeks before he came to Kashmir. The legendary cricketer was told that if he went to Kashmir, he will not be allowed to work in India.

“Then I approached Sourav and said this is the story, you guys are making it political, I am not the one making it political. I told Sourav it’s unfair and he agreed it’s political,” Gibbs went on to add.

The cricketer further stated that he is proud to be a part of the KPL. He also appreciated the talent Pakistan keeps producing. About the Jay Shah’s threats, Gibbs had also tweeted last year.
