Zaira said that acting, though works out for her, is not where she belongs. She does not feel satisfied at heart and she feels like she has deviated from the path of religion. She concluded her Facebook post thanking her fans for all the support and announcing that she will no more be part of the industry.

“For a very long time now, it has felt like I have struggled to become someone else. As I had just started to explore and make sense of the things to which I dedicated my time, efforts and emotions and tried to grab hold of a new lifestyle, it was only for me to realize that though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here,” said the actress.

”Hindu actresses should also take inspiration”

Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha president Swami Chakrapani has come out in support of Zaira but also said that other Hindu actresses should follow in her lead.

“Actress Zaira’s (Wasim) decision to withdraw from films because of religious beliefs is praiseworthy. Hindu actresses should also take inspiration from Zaira,” he tweeted.

After Zaira’s post broke the internet, it was rumored that her account was hacked. However, recently, her manager Tuhin Mishra clarified that Zaira’s post was written by her and her account was not hacked, refuting all the media reports claiming otherwise.
