Pricing, launch, features: Honda all set to launch the 7th Generation Honda City in Pakistan.
The vehicle is also available in Thailand, with a turbocharged 3-cylinder engine.
Initially, it was rumored that Honda would replace the current City of the Pakistani market with the 6th generation City. Recently, the company smashed all rumors and proved that it has even better plans for Pakistan. Honda Atlas is all set to introduce the ‘7th generation Honda City’ to Pakistan.
The 7th generation City is already offered in two variants with naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engines in India. The first variant sports a 1.5 Liter Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) i-VTEC Petrol Engine, which makes 121 horsepower at 6,600 RPM and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 RPM.
On the other hand, the second variant features a 1.5 Liter i-DTEC Turbocharged diesel Engine that makes 100 horsepower at 3,600 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 RPM.
Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. However, petrol engines come with an automatic option. The Indian version of the 7th generation City comes in 3 trim levels: V, VX, and ZX. Each option can be bought with any of the engines mentioned above, which means that there are nine car variants in total. Each variation is priced differently, ranging from Rs. 2.6 million to 3.1 million.
The vehicle is also available in Thailand, with a turbocharged 3-cylinder engine. It features a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder Turbocharged engine, which makes 122 horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 173Newton/Meters of torque at 2,000 RPM.

The company has not officially clarified whether the Pakistani Automotive Industry will be graced with the same 7th generation City as found in India and Thailand. Industry experts speculate that many of the vehicle’s features mentioned above will be absent in the Pakistani version because it is set to be positioned as a ‘budget family Sedan’.
In that case, it is possible that the new City is not much different than the Toyota Yaris in terms of features and performance.
