ICC under fire for not naming Babar Azam as T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament
Babar Azam finished the tournament with the most runs to his name.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is under fire for its decision to name David Warner as the Player of the Tournament for the ICC T20 World Cup. Millions of fans around the world think that Babar Azam, having scored the most runs in the tournament, deserved the award.

On the other hand, Australia’s David Warner finished the tournament as the second highest runs scorer with 289 runs in 7 matches. Pakistan’s Muhammad Rizwan was just eight runs behind the Aussie cricketer with a much better average.
Reacting to the ICC’s decision, former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar termed it unfair. “Was really looking forward to see @babarazam258 becoming Man of the Tournament. Unfair decision for sure,” tweeted Shoaib Akhtar.

West Indies cricketer, Sherfane Rutherford, also expressed his disappointment over the “tired decision.”

Cricket fans also recalled how Virat Kohli was awarded the Player of the Tournament in the 2016 T20 World Cup despite India getting knocked out in the semi final just like Pakistan. Here’s what the fans have to say:
Babar deserved to be the man of the tournament. Last year it was Kohli. India couldn’t qualified for finals but still MOT was from India. I was expecting Babar Azam.#T20WorldCupFinal #Pak @Mariam_Jamali @Shoaib_Jatt @MazherArshad @WaseemBadami @ImTanveerA pic.twitter.com/d9qWxlVFpt

Babar Azam was player of the tournament.
It doesn't matter what the ICC say.

Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam made 303 In just 6 Innings & David Warner scored 289 In 7 Innings and considered the player of the Tournament.
What a decision by the International Cricket council, Ahh!

Clearly @babarazam258 is Man of the tournament, but award given to David Warner. We can expect this kind of decision from indian @ICC ,they are blind in hatred while making this decision. Disgusting !! #playerofthetournament pic.twitter.com/axwWyNrIRr

So Virat Kohli despite his team losing, became player of the tournament TWICE but Babar Azam will not be the POTT after losing in Semis.
That is hypocrite, biased, piece of sh*t @ICC for you.
This is the only way you can save Kohli's records from Babar. 🖐#playerofthetournament pic.twitter.com/AWazvoPQ4i
