The COVID-19 crisis, which at one hand has exposed us to an unknown threat, has also brought out the best in people. Setting an example of unity and harmony, Pakistanis are trying to do all they can to help those who have been worst affected by the lockdown.
A beautiful example of compassion was set by the residents of Peshawar, where people came out of their houses to feed stray cats and dogs. As the lockdown in Pakistan continues, stray animals are helpless due to the unavailability of food.
A group of volunteers fed over 100 stray animals in the different areas of the city. The starving stray animals, which feed on leftovers thrown in the streets, weren’t able to find any food due to closed shops.
While talking to a media outlet, one of the volunteers said that this is a tough time for the people, so one can only imagine what the animals must be going through.
‘’We have been doing this for the past two weeks’’, he said.
