Indian filmmaker says that the government should ”legalize rape”
He said that women should should cooperate in rape to avoid murder.
During this dark time, where incidents of rape and murder are being reported across countries, Indian filmmaker Daniel Shravan has come out with a horrifying statement. He has ‘suggested’ a measure to tackle the growing threat of sexual assault and murder.
He suggested that rather than calling the police and authorities for help, women should carry condoms with them, so they can save themselves from murder. He said that women should cooperate and take part in the disgusting act when they are assaulted by rapists. Not only this, but they should offer them a condom so they aren’t killed later on.
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada shared screenshots made by the director on his Facebook page. In one post, which was later removed, Shravan said that ‘Rape is not a serious thing but murder is inexcusable’.
He says that the society and women are ‘real culprits for engendering the evil thinking of killing the victims after raping them’. His argument was that if the law provides an exception for rape, then the victims won’t be killed afterward by the criminals.
Shravan doesn’t stop there. He went on to say that legalizing ‘rape without violence’ is the only to prevent the killing of the victims, as this will discourage the criminals from murdering the victims after their gruesome act.
“Murder is a sin and a crime. Rape is a corrective punishment. No justice is going to happen with Nirbhaya Act or Priyanka Act. The agenda of rape is fulfilling the sexual needs of rapists based on that time or mood.” – He said in a sickening Facebook post.
He says that a rapist’s main aim is to fulfill their sexual needs, depending upon the time and mood. So, if this ‘crime’ is ignored by society, court, and women, then they won’t be cruel afterward and will not kill their victims.
When one Facebook user responded to his appalling views by asking him to see a psychiatrist for his dangerous mental condition, he said that ‘If these adamant bitches didn’t consent to the proposal made by rapists, they will have no other way but to rape them’. He also responded in affirmative when the Facebook user asked him if he will give the women in his family similar advice.
However, after seeing the reaction he received, he deleted all his posts and apologized for his comments. He gave an excuse, saying that these were the dialogues of a villain character in a new movie he’s about to direct, and were misunderstood by his audience.
He said that the statements aren’t his opinions, and he apologized for hurting the feelings and sentiments of people.
