India Today reports that a Pakistani television commercial has mocked Indian pilot Abhinandan days before the India Pakistan ICC World Cup match that is scheduled for the 16th of this month. The news reporter added that the Pakistani add shows a person impersonating Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and mocking the Indian airforce pilot. The commercial recreates the investigations of Abhinandan.

The two Indian jets made an attempt to enter Pakistan’s territory in unprovoked aggression in February this year. Pakistani forces shot these two aircraft in retaliation. One of the pilots of downed aircraft was held captive by Pakistan. The pilot, however, was later returned to India.

The freed pilot was also accompanied by the International Committee of Red Cross. Pakistani premier ordered the release of Indian Pilot so as to stop the further escalation of tensions between the two nuclear-armed archrival countries.

The civil society of both the countries lauded the Imran Khan’s initiative towards peace and to order the release of Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan. But Indian media didn’t even miss the chance to manipulate the situation and called it a big diplomatic victory of New Delhi.

The released pilot praised Pakistan’s army in his video clip released after he was handover to India. He said, “The Pakistan Army is very professional. I see peace in it. I have spent time with the Pakistan Army and got impressed.” He himself admitted in the video that Indian media always stretches the truth and the smallest of the things are presented in a very incendiary manner so that people are misled.

The Indian news channel also alleged that the whole episode of Abhinandan’s arrest has more often become a sensation for Pakistani media including social media. The reporter further asserted that the Pakistani channel did so in order to get more viewership for the channel and for the brand itself. He said that the whole event of Abhinandan was likely to be an obsession for the country.

Another reporter of the India Today said that Pakistan made the video of mocking Abhinandan in order to provoke India. He said that Abhinandan is a raw nerve for India and his accomplishment to shot down Pakistani F16 has been the subject of controversy. So, therefore, Pakistan is showing disrespect to the uniform and it is a very ironic act by the country who is ruled by the military. The world actually laughs at Pakistan when it makes fun of the soldiers.

Yet another reporter Hamza unfolding his anti-Pakistani agenda argued that it is an attempt to annoy India and certainly, this act of mocking Abhinandan shows the kind of marketing that Pakistan does. He again lamented that Abhinandan and his related events are the most interesting stuff for Pakistan.
