VIDEO: Iran claims to have made a device that detects COVID-19 within 5 seconds
The device works by creating a magnetic range within the 100-m radius.
Iran claims to have developed a smart system device that can detect COVID-19 and other viruses in the surrounding environment within 5 seconds. It does this by creating a magnetic field.
The device was created by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and was revealed to the public in a ceremony. Top military officials, along with IRGC Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami, marked their presence at the event.
‘’The apparatus can detect the virus within a 100-meter distance’’, General Salami said.
The device does not need any blood samples. It can detect the virus on surfaces and in humans. It has been tested in different hospitals and the results have been accurate by up to 80%. It uses a magnetic field to detect the contaminated spots and can detect viruses other than the novel COVID-19.
The apparatus was created with a new emerging technology developed by local experts after the COVID-19 outbreak hit the country. The general added that the system can be upgraded with minor changes in the future.
