Is Honda Atlas Launching Locally-Assembled Vezel in Pakistan?
A locally-assembled version of Honda’s crossover SUV, Vezel, will soon be seen on the Pakistani roads as per a report by the Business Recorder. The report, citing a source privy to the development, stated that the company has been testing a petrol variant of the Honda Vezel H-RV in Pakistan.
SUVs have been greatly popular in the country in the last three years as its market share saw a sharp rise of 15%. The Honda Vezel H-RV will be another addition to the already available set of SUVs, including KIA Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, MG Motors MG-HS, DFSK Glory, Proton X70 and Oshan X7, in the market.
SUV segment can potentially become the biggest car segment, if it sustains the growth trajectory, in Pakistan by 2030 as per a study conducted by Changan Pakistan.
Honda‘s plan to launch a locally-assembled version of its crossover SUV is still in the initial phase. It remains to be seen whether the company will go ahead with their plans considering the present scenario of the auto sector and the economy’s precarious position.
