Is Murad Ali Shah launching his own PSL team?

CM Sindh met with Pakistani pacer Shahnawaz Dahani

It is without a shadow of doubt that Pakistan Super League (PSL) has proved to be a huge success. The Pakistan cricket has greatly benefitted from its own franchise based T20 tournament.

PSL hasn’t just provided promising young cricketers like Shahnawaz Dahani and others but it has also been a great financial success for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Furthermore, it also paved the way for restoration of cricket in the country.

CM Sindh met Shahnawaz Dahani:

Chief Minister Sindh – Syed Murad Ali Shah – met with Pakistani pacer Shahnawaz Dahani. The fast bowler belongs from Larkana, the political stronghold of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

CM Sindh promised the Pakistani pacer that he will promote him and other Pakistan cricketers. “My government will promote you in all intent and purposes so that you can focus on your sports,” he told Dahani.

Moreover, he also expressed his desire to bat against the Larkana born cricketer in a cricket match.

Murad Ali Shah expresses his interest in launching PSL team:

Murad Ali Shah has revealed that he is trying to launch his own PSL team, which will comprise of cricketers from Sindh to help them get a spot in the national cricket team. He also disclosed that he is looking to find a sponsor to launch the team.

Is CM Sindh wanting to launch PSL team a political statement?

CM Sindh’s desire to launch a PSL team seems a political move to win the support of young aspiring cricketers as its up to the PCB whether they want to launch a new team. Last year in October, the PCB confirmed that it is not planning to add a new team to the PSL for at least two years.

PCB Director Media & Communications Sami Ul Hasan Burney confirmed to Business Recorder that the cricket board’s plan to add a seventh team to the PSL pool has been put off for at least two years.
