Security forces rescue remaining 5 abducted labourers in operation in Kurram: ISPR
Disturbing reports have been coming in from Kurram tribal district where a hostage rescue mission of the Pakistan army has suffered heavy losses.
More than 16 laborers working at a mobile tower site in Kurram Tribal District were abducted by unknown terrorists on the 26th of June 2021.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement that on the 27th of June, 10 out of 16 laborers were released, and the body of one laborer was found. Later on, security forces launched a series of Intelligence Operations on highly inhospitable terrain to rescue the remaining abducted laborers.

During an Intelligence Based Operation on the 13th of July, 2021, three terrorists were killed, while Captain Basit Ali and Sepoy Bilal embraced martyrdom during the rescue operation.
On the 15th of July, 2021, security forces continued the pursuit and successfully rescued five abducted laborers during another exchange of fire. The operation is still underway to eliminate the remaining terrorists.
Earlier, there were speculations that telecom workers were held captive by the alleged Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Khorasan Province (ISKP) leader in the area.
