Israeli soldier kills Palestinian woman who was preparing milk for baby
Two bullets penetrated the vehicle, news agency WAFA reported.
A Palestinian woman died from her wounds on Friday after she was shot by an Israeli soldier during an army raid in Jenin’s al-Jabriyath neighborhood in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said Dalya Samhoudi, a 23-year-old mother of three, was hit by a live round to the chest which penetrated her liver. She was then taken to intensive care where she died on Friday.
A close friend of Samhoudi’s said she was shot as she was preparing to give her baby milk, and was drawn to the window as she tried to shut tear gas out.
The Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Mahmoud al-Sa’adi said that the Israeli forces also opened fire on the ambulance that was trying to reach to Samhudi’s house. Two bullets penetrated the vehicle, news agency WAFA reported.
During the raid early on Friday, the Israeli army stormed the home of the former Palestinian prisoner Khaled Suleiman Abu Hassan.
The raid on Hassan’s home led to confrontations between local Palestinian youth and Israeli soldiers, who fired bullets, tear gas and sound bombs.
The Israeli army allegedly told AFP that it had no knowledge of Samhoudi and said that a “routine” operation turned into a riot.
