A social media user named Danish Suba demanded justice for Simon Arshad, who lost his life in a crossfire between Punjab police and some car snatchers.
Sharing the incident, Suba stated, “According to eyewitnesses, Simon Arshad was killed on the 6th of June 2021 in a crossfire between Punjab police and car snatchers. Simon Arshad s/o Arshad M Gill, who originally belonged to Khushab was a registered nurse working in Rawalpindi.”
“We know that such incidents of civilians who get hurt in the crossfire are sometimes inevitable, but as evident in the video, we can see that Simon died because of non-provision of emergency first aid.
Members of the Dolphin force and Punjab police can be clearly seen in the video who neglected and left Arshad bleeding on the road for 20 to 30 minutes before he was literally thrown in the ambulance carelessly like he was a criminal.
None of the Police officials bothered to stop the bleeding and provide first aid care to him. If his bleeding was controlled in time, he could have been saved.
Non-provision of emergency first aid, untrained police officials and their sheer negligence, late arrival at the hospital, and excessive bleeding led to the death of Simon.
Simon left behind his grieving old father and a young sister. He was the sole bread earner of his family.”
Suba concluded, “I request to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Chief of Army staff and Punjab Police to kindly provide justice to Simon’s poor family and some compensation so that it may give them some comfort for rest of their lives.”
