Karachi’s Mumtaz Begum, the ‘woman with a fox body’, now has international fanbase

Karachi Zoo’s Mumtaz Begum, a woman with a fox body, has now gone international. A few days ago, she was featured on Atlas Obscura, an international travel website.

Moreover, Mumtaz’s story was also featured in Unravel Malta and India’s Zee media.

Mumtaz Begum is not an unnatural creature but an artist named Murad Ali. The man behind the attraction at the Karachi Zoo is  renowned for his advice and the ability to see the future.

The performer took up Mumtaz’s role after his father passed away. He has now been Mumtaz Begum for more than 40 years in her uniquely designed pavilion, Mumtaz Mahal.
