The family of a grade-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service who had gone missing during service in 2014 has been ordered to return the salaries it had received.

A senior PAS officer, Amjad Shahid Afridi, mysteriously went missing during the service on the 18th of March 2014, soon after he reported to the KP government for his posting in the province.

Since then, nothing was heard about the officer as the government and its agencies failed to rescue him or find any clue to his whereabouts.

No one from the bureaucracy or its federations raised a voice for the recovery of the senior officer.

Afridi supervised many departments as a secretary during his postings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was known for his honesty and competence.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department proposed a summary for payment of full salary of the officer to his family till the age of his retirement or his re-appearance.
