entry tests to be held in KP

The KP government has decided to conduct entry tests for admissions to  in all public sector universities.

The government also approved supplementary exams for those students whose grades were low in the recent matric and intermediate exams.

All eight Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education have been given the go-ahead in this regard.

It is, however, yet to be decided how to undertake these exams. The chairmen of the boards have been directed to submit a final report.

The Minister of Education, Shahram Tarakai, chaired a meeting, which was attended by the eight chairmen of education boards.

Tarakai was notified about the complexities and difficulties that occurred due to the recent matric and intermediate results.

The Education Minister directed the chairmen of all the boards to hold a supplementary exam to help students improve their grades.

The decision was taken so that students who were unfairly awarded higher marks would have to compete with other deserving students to get accepted into any university.

Sources within the education department told a local news outlet that the final pattern of the exams would be finalized soon, and they will be undertaken in November this year. However, it has been decided to hold another meeting to approve all these arrangements.
