The minister termed this development as a unique step that will direct every other department, like Public Health Engineering.
Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has come out with an E-governance system for contractors and firms. This will benefit about 7000 contractors of KP. This facility will be available online 24/7.
The minister himself termed this development as a ”unique step” that will direct every other department, like Public Health Engineering, irrigation, and local government, to make use of this mechanism, which is in accordance with the Communication and Works Department.
Furthermore, while expressing his views after the inauguration of the E-Registration of contractors and firms by Communication and Works Department of KP, he ordered to launch the E-Work in the next phase, saying that the government of KP has ‘taken a lead on other provinces when it comes to E-governance’.
Akbar Ayub Khan, Provincial Minister for C&W, Shahab Ali Shah, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Secretary C&W and others took part in the meeting.
Minister for Communication & Works briefed the Chief Minister on the E-registration. He stated that an easy mechanism for the E-registration of contractors and firms, which is also in accordance with the demands of the Pakistan Engineering Council, has been introduced in the C&W Department.
Before this, a manual registration system was present that was done by 12 to 15 departments separately. This process was time-consuming and demanded a lot of effort.
After this, the registration of contractors will be carried out through Communication & Works Department,. It will take lesser time and will be a lot more convenient. Other departments had the facility of E-tendering but C&W had E-bidding and E-billing as well. The Chief Minister stated that the E-registration of contractors is a progressive step towards the E-Governance system in KP.
