A commendable initiative by the KP government has been introduced as it announces a monthly honorarium for national games 2019 winners. On a monthly basis, the government will provide 20k for gold medalists, 15k for silver medalists and 10k for bronze medalists for a year as a token of appreciation.

The decision was made during a meeting directed by Senior Minister for Sports Muhammad Atif Khan. It is a very significant decision when it comes to the welfare of players and the promotion of sports in the province.

Moreover, the KP government has also decided to hire 100 coaches and sponsor KP players in international events. Coaches will be recruited from all over Pakistan. They should be gold medalists at the national level in order to be eligible for the post.

Financial Stability of Players

Senior Minister for Sports Atif Khan said in his speech,

“The purpose of providing monthly compensation to the players is to stabilize the players financially. He said that a huge amount of Rs 26 billion was being spent on promoting sports”.

National Games were held in Peshawar after ten years, which is a great achievement for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secured the seventh position in the 33rd National Games. Pakistan Army, for the 24th time, won the Quaid-e-Azam trophy by securing the first position with 7,909 points. Pak Army won 15 gold, 134 silver, and 96 bronze medals. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won the fair-play trophy of the mega event.
