KP government to provide electric beds, wheelchairs and financial aid, along with other benefits for injured cops
Previously, the financial assistance for injured policemen was around Rs1 million, but, this digit has increased to as much as Rs2.5 million.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a beneficial and generous package for policemen who were injured in the line of duty.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar announced the comprehensive assistance package for policemen who became disabled due to sustaining an on-duty injury. According to details, the package also includes financial aid for injured cops, electric beds and wheelchairs, and assistance in procuring prosthetic body parts to help people with disability.

Previously, the financial assistance for injured policemen was around Rs1 million, but, this digit has increased to as much as Rs2.5 million. Likewise, those officers who have been completely disabled will be given Rs10 million as financial assistance.
A unique position will also be developed for such personnel, which will pay them until they retire and furthermore, fresh hiring can also be conducted for their current posts. The government will provide specialist physiotherapy services, and an improved healthcare package to ensure that the rehabilitation of injured policemen is done at the government’s expense. The IGP delivered directives during a meeting with Constable Muhammad Rizwan, who was shot during a police confrontation with dacoits in Sheikhupura and remained disabled as a result of these bullets. The Additional IGP Finance and Welfare has also submitted proposals to the IGP for approval in this matter.
It is important to mention here that financial compensation is provided to the legal heirs of the shahada. The amount of financial assistance provided depends heavily on the rank or the basic pay scale of the deceased. Salary or pension is also paid to the family to help them. There are also education packages available for shaheed police personnel. Not just this, but there is a plethora of other incentives for the family of the deceased.
