Outrage after a video of KP Police beating, stripping a young man naked in custody goes viral
The video showed police personnel in uniform insulting, beating, and forcibly taking off the clothes of a man.
Three police officers have been arrested after a video showing them slandering and stripping a man naked at a police station went viral on social media.
The video showed police personnel in uniform insulting, beating, and forcibly taking off the clothes of the man.
According to details, the victim is a 30-year-old Afghan national who currently resides in Peshawar. The incident took place at Tehkal Police Station.
The incident occurred a week after the victim used profanities against police personnel, including the inspector general and senior superintendent of police, in a video uploaded on Facebook. It was not clear why the man had abused the police in the video.
After the outrage grew on social media against the abuse directed at the man, police arrested three Tehkal Police Station personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector and two constables.
The SSP Peshawar, Zahoor Babar Afridi, in a video message, said the police high command had taken “stern notice” of the incident after the video went viral.

Afridi said the police officers involved in the incident had been suspended and charged under the Criminal Procedure Code and KP Police Act, 2017.
Moreover, the Thekal Station House Officer was suspended for “poor supervision,” Afridi added.
The Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan, had also taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the provincial police chief.

Not only is it inhuman and disgusting to strip someone naked, but to also record and post it for the world to see is shameful. Imagine the mental torture and trauma the boy has to go through for the rest of his life. #JusticeForAmirTahkal pic.twitter.com/ipQvdLvvEB
