VIDEO: Senior Cameraman forced to sell food on roads after being fired
Khurram Sindhu said he was fired from Aap News three months ago while his three-month salary arrears were not paid.
A cameraman named Khurram Sindhu who worked for 12 years in many local news channels in Lahore, is now forced to sell food on roads.
Senior Cameraman by profession:
Sindhu said, after working in several news channels, he reached the position of a senior cameraman, but now, under the current financial crisis, the channel owners fired him like hundreds of other employees.
The senior cameraman added he was fired from Aap News three months ago while his three-month salary arrears were not paid.
Sindhu told The Independent Urdu, “I was in debt when I was fired from my job. I looked for another job for three months, but when all else failed, I borrowed money from friends and started working”.
According to Khurram, on the first day, he was afraid that if people did not buy the food he prepared, he would not be able to cover the cost with the loan money.
During the conversation, Sindhu asked how many of the channel owners who are lamenting the financial crisis and making the workers unemployed, have worked on roads.
At the same time, Sindhu advised unemployed media workers that the government or leaders of journalists’ organizations would do nothing for anyone. The workers should go out, earn for their children, and leave the shame behind, this is how their unemployment will end.
