Three sisters from Lahore, who refused to live at the mercy of others, set an example for other women by driving a rickshaw.

Nasreen Bibi, Saima Khatun, and Shahnaz Bibi started their work after buying rickshaws in installments.

Speaking to The Independent Urdu, Nasreen Bibi, said, “I am the sole breadwinner of my family. My children are young, and I have no one to support me financially.”

She said that one of my sister’s husband had died, and the other sister’s husband was ill, so instead of working in people’s homes, we decided to go out and do something.

Nasreen Bibi added I first learned to drive a rickshaw and then bought a rickshaw in monthly installments of Rs 5,000.

Another sister, Saima, told a source, “We had no income. I started driving rickshaw so I would be able to earn money and educate my children.”

The third sister Shahnaz Bibi said that she also drives a rickshaw with her sisters and is happy to earn a decent living.

Expressing her contentment, Nasreen Bibi said, “In the beginning, I thought that it would be challenging for me to go out and face people, but it wasn’t that difficult.

Nasreen Bibi added, “I was surprised when people saw me driving a rickshaw and encouraged me. Now people stop us and praise us for our hard work,” she said.
