Lahore to have one of the largest forests in Asia
The Chairman of Pakistan Horticulture Authority, Yasir Gilani, said that the initiative would improve the city's environment.
The Punjab government has decided to develop Asia’s Largest Forest in Lahore.
The Parks and Horticulture Authority has partnered with the concerned departments of the provincial government to plant trees at 51 locations across Lahore city.
The Advisor to the CM Punjab on Tourism, Asif Mahmood, shared the news at a press conference at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore.
Mehmood stated, “saplings of the Miyawaki species have been planted 51 locations across the metropolis. Moreover, 1.1 million trees saplings have already been sowed by the provincial government.
He added that nearly 500,000 tree seedlings and 11 Miyawaki forests would be grafted across various areas in Lahore during the monsoon.
The advisor said that special children would also be included in the Clean and Green Pakistan drive.
