Government to launch ‘Ehsaas App’ shortly to educate people
The government’s new scheme for poverty reduction, Ehsaas, is expected to lift 6m women out of poverty.
The government of Pakistan is all set to launch the ‘Ehsaas App’ to educate common people about the incumbent government’s social welfare initiatives. The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Sania Nishtar said the app would raise awareness regarding the programme and its pro-poor steps.
Dr Nishtar said this through this app, the citizens would access first hand information about the Ehsaas programme’ which is run by the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division.
The government’s new scheme for poverty reduction, Ehsaas, is expected to lift 6 million women out of poverty. BISP and Ehsaas are collaborating for two new schemes Kifalat and Tahafuz. The schemes will be starting in the on-going fiscal year and are aimed at providing financial and digital inclusion of around six million women.
Kifalat and Tahafuz will work to provide health and nutrition facilities to marginalized families in the most underprivileged and remote areas of the country. Through ‘one woman one bank account policy ‘, Kifalat will provide financial independence to Pakistani women while Tahafuz will take care of health and nutritional facilities to families living in remote areas of Pakistan.
