Legends Cricket League 2022: Nine Pakistani players to feature in the League
These are the Pakistani players participating in the Legends Cricket League
As many as nine Pakistani cricketers will be representing Asia Lions in the upcoming Legends Cricket League 2022. Its a professional cricket league for retired international cricketers and it will comprise of three teams.
The Legends Cricket League will be played in January 2022 in Oman. The three teams participating in the tournament are Asian Lions, an Indian team, and a Rest of the World team. Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi will play for the Asian Lions which also includes players from Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
These are the Pakistani players participating in the Legends Cricket League:
- Shoaib Akhtar
- Shahid Afridi
- Shoaib Malik
- Umar Gul
- Azhar Mahmood
- Younis Khan
- Mohammad Yousuf
- Muhammad Hafeez
The other players part of the Asian Lions are: Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, and Asghar Afghan. Furthermore, MS Dhoni, Shaun Pollock, Yuvraj Singh, Darren Sammy, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara and Brett Lee are also likely to join the Legends Cricket League.
Ravi Shastri, Commissioner of Legends Cricket League, is excited to have former Pakistani and Sri Lankan cricketers in the league. “This is top quality exciting cricket in offer. The Lions of Asia from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Afghanistan coming together in one team will definitely give the other two teams a run for their money. I tell you they are absolute champions and Afridi, Murali, Chaminda, Shoaib Malik all playing in one team, this will be a blast.”
