‘Liking’ the obscene Twitter video: Waqar Younis clarifies what happened
Waqar eventually unliked the video, but it was too late already as Twitter users had taken screenshots of the tweet.
Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis recently announced that he would quit social media after an obscene video was liked from his Twitter account on Thursday night.
Clarifying what really happened, Waqar posted a video on his Twitter handle and claimed that his account was hacked. He said that it was not him, but the hacker who is responsible for liking the explicit video.
“When I woke up this morning, I found out that someone had hacked my twitter account and liked an obscene and immoral video using my account. This is very shameful, disappointing and hurtful to my family and me,” Waqar said.
“I thought social media is a medium to interact with your fans. However, this is not the first time something like this has happened. It has happened before as well. So it looks like this guy will not mend his ways, hence I have decided to quit social media because my family is more important to me. I am sorry if anyone is hurt because of this,” he added.
Waqar eventually unliked the video, but it was too late as Twitter users had taken screenshots of the tweet already.
This did not happen for the first time. The same kind of tweet was liked from Waqar’s Twitter account nearly two years ago, but the Pakistani pacer refrained from clarifying about it then.
