A Senate panel was informed that almost 490 teachers working in different madrassa across the tribal areas have not been paid since June 2019. The Committee has granted one-month time to clear the payments.
The Senate Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (Safron) came across at Parliament House on Monday.
During the discussion of the salaries and other regulations for employees, the committee was alerted that almost 490 teachers working in different madrassas of the Newly Merged Tribal Districts (NMTD) are still waiting for wages. The finance department has not released funds for salaries in the last six months.
The committee directed the finance authorities to provide the salaries of these employees by January 31. The SAFRON secretary assured the committee that the wages will be cleared by the end of January.
