Making Pakistan proud, Chitral’s first female athlete makes it to ‘Forbes 30 under 30’ list

Making Pakistan proud, Chitral’s Karishma Ali becomes the first woman from the area to make to Forbes prestigious 30 under 30 list. Karishma is among 5 Pakistani individuals and startups making to the honorable list this year. Pleasant to see, 3 of them are women.

Forbes says that their list comprises of 300 “entrepreneurs and game-changers, representing 23 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region” were chosen who stood out for the right reasons.

“From innovating in technology and disrupting age-old industries to demonstrating immense talent and dominating the world stage (cue in Naomi Osaka), this group of young stars shines in more ways than one”–  the magazine wrote.

Karishma “is the first girl from her hometown to have played football at a national and international level” – which is an incredible achievement on its own. Football, let alone women football, has never gotten the space and platform it deserves in the country.
