Malala to join the Obamas, Lady Gaga and other celebrities for a Virtual Graduation Ceremony on YouTube

The virtual graduation would include talks, discussions, and music performances.

Pakistani Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai will accompany former President of the US Barack Obama, LeBron James, K-Pop band BTS, Lady Gaga and other celebrities to celebrate the class of 2020 in virtual graduation ceremonies. These YouTube ceremonies will replace traditional commemorations of high school and college due to COVID-19.

Obama, along with his wife Michelle, would partake in two separate graduation events. In a multimedia event called ‘Graduate Together’, which would be broadcasted across numerous TV networks on the 16th of May, Obama will deliver a message to school seniors. The event would be one-hour long.

Michelle will host a separate YouTube event called ‘Dear Class of 2020’ that would be streamed on the 6th of June 2020. In the event, Michelle would join BTS, Lady Gaga, Malala, and former Secretary of the State Condoleezza Rice.

The virtual graduation would include talks, discussions, and music performances. The US Women’s soccer player Megan Rapinoe, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, and Google’s Chief Executive Sundar Pichai will also participate.

A podcast is also planned for the 15th of May. It is called the ‘Commencement: Speeches for the Class of 2020’. Hillary Clinton, John Legend, Eli Manning, and Jimmy Fallon will participate in the podcast.
