Maria B expresses her displeasure over Indian ad shoots in Pakistan
“It is time we should start raising these important issues.”
The famous Pakistani fashion designer, Maria B, has questioned why designers from India are being allowed to shoot their campaigns in Pakistan while Pakistani artists remain banned from working in India.
Sharing a video from an ad shoot of an Indian designer in Pakistan, Maria wrote, “This is an Indian designer shoot happening here in Pakistan! Whoa! If this is happening in our country, then why aren’t we allowed to do this in India?”
“Shouldn’t we, as an industry, be responding the same way as India is towards our designers and artists rather than a one-sided relation?”
The designer was pointing to the complete ban on Pakistani artists in India by the All Indian Cine Workers Association after the 2019 Pulwama attack.
Maria B also questioned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives on the Kashmir crisis.
PM Khan said that India’s unilateral decision to end Kashmir’s special status had made Pakistan resume trade with New Delhi.
In another Instagram story, She continued, “It is time we should start raising these valid issues.”
