Maryam Aurangzeb Provided Billions of Rupees Tax Relief To Her Husband’s Tobacco Company: Fawad Chaudhry

The Pakistan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has announced to take legal path against Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb for being allegedly involved in providing billions of rupees tax relief to her husband’s tobacco company.

In a press conference, the former federal minister alleged that the PML N leader’s husband was given billion of rupees tax relief. He also raised question over the capacity in which Maryam Aurangzeb participated in the meeting on the industry.

Fawad Chaudhary added that his party has already written a letter to the Secretary Cabinet on this issue. He also announced to file a reference regarding the disqualification of Information and Broadcasting Minister as its a case of utter dishonesty.

According to a report by the Express Tribune, the cigarette industry has been given billion of rupees of tax relief, despite the instructions of PM Shehbaz Sharif, by “increasing the taxable price threshold for the expensive cigarette brands.”

PTI leader Shahbaz Gill took to his Twitter account to question Maryam Aurangzeb’s alleged role in the billions of rupees tax relief to the tobacco industry.
