“If Madrassas are not opened, students will engage in objectionable activities” Maulana Fazlur Rehman
"The madrassas should be reopened conditional to adherence to SOPs," Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has urged the government to open the educational institutions and madrassas.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, the JUI-F leader, said, “Every year, the government educational institutes remain closed in June, July, and August, whereas madrassas function as per the Hijri calendar. They have vacations during Shaban, Ramadan, and Shawwal.”
“Holidays of the madrassas have come to an end. If the students are not engaged in classrooms, then they will become involved in activities that the state might not approve of,” he said.
Rehman added, “The madrassas should be reopened conditional to adherence to SOPs.”
He said that when we consider closing all the educational institutes, we should understand that the education sector is facing a massive loss for which the government has not planned anything.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that his party believes that all educational institutes should be opened with all the SOPs and protective measures.
