Meet Maham, a Pakistani student who voluntarily checks people’s body temperature to show solidarity with China

Meet Maham Zahoor – a brave Pakistani student who checks people’s body temperate voluntarily to show her support for the Chinese people. Maham is pursuing M.S in International Relations at Xiamen University.

Maham’s father Zahoor Ahmad showed his concern regarding the outbreak. He said that he has advised his daughter to stay indoors.

“We are worried about the health of our daughter who is studying at Xiamen University since 2018,” Rawalpindi-based Zahoor Ahmad, father of Maham Zahoor said while speaking to the Arab News.

“I talked to her this morning and advised her to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary movement, especially to markets and other public places.”

However, fearless Maham, with taking precautionary measures for herself, is also making sure that the people around her are safe as well. 

People have lauded her bravery. Even the Chinese Ambassador Li Xiaosi thanked her for her heartwarming gesture.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for helping and supporting China in challenging hours. The coronavirus outbreak has, once again, proved deep friendship between the two countries.

He made these remarks while talking to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the phone.

“At a time when the Chinese people are experiencing difficulties, Pakistan has spared no effort to give China a helping hand, once again highlighting the deep friendship between the two countries,” Wang said.
