Meet Shehroze Kashif – the youngest mountaineer to summit Kangchenjunga

Shehroze Kashif, Pakistan’s young mountaineer, created history on Thursday by becoming the first-ever Pakistani and the youngest climber in the world to summit Kangchenjunga – the third highest mountain in the world.Kangchenjunga, also spelled Kanchenjunga and Khangchendzonga, is the third highest mountain in the world. Kanchenjunga is the most difficult mountain to climb to the top from the final camp than any other 8000ers and takes the longest time as well. Climbers start ascending from Camp IV at about 9.00-10.00 pm for the Kanchenjunga summit (8,586 m/28,169 ft.)

Details of the Summit

Shehroze Kashif completed his summit of the 8,586m high mountain at around 3:05 PST on Thursday. His team informed the media, and the news went viral online. Now another Pakistani mountaineer Sirbaz Ali is also on his way to scale Kangchenjunga and is likely to reach the summit on the 7th of May.

Shehroze is a 20-year-old mountaineer. He became known as The Broad Boy after he summited the Broad Peak at the age of 17. The young climber is aiming to climb 14 eight-thousanders in the world.With four of the highest peaks (The Everest, K2, Broad Peak, and Manaslu) already under his belt, he announced to climb Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu this season. Shehroze was also the youngest mountaineer to scale Mount Everest and K2.
