On Twitter: Mia Khalifa questions Priyanka Chopra’s silence over farmers crisis, public reacts

The webcam model and American media personality, Mia Khalifa, has been a vocal supporter of the farmers, who are protesting in India.

Indian farmers have been protesting for two months against the three laws passed in September of 2020 The new reforms would bring India’s agricultural sector under corporate control, impacting the farmers’ livelihood.

After making tweets supporting the farmers, Khalifa has questioned Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, for not writing anything on the crisis.

Khalifa tweeted, “Is Mrs. Jonas going to chime in at any point?” I am just curious. It is very much giving me Shakira during the Beruit devastation vibes. Silence.”

Barring an isolated tweet on the 6th of December 2020, Priyanka Chopra referred to India’s farmers as the nation’s food soldiers. However, she has not commented on recent developments. At that point, she had expressed her hope that the crisis is “resolved sooner than late’’.

But the issue has reignited in a big way.

she actually spoke about the issue during December but yes, no statement yet when the government has been acting with utmost cruelty.

Did she though?

I just remember is her saying a very neutral statement about finding a solution and then leaving it at that. There was no real suggestion on what side she supported.

However, Priyanka isn’t the only Bollywood celebrity to remain silent over the issue that’s gaining traction globally. Many celebrities including, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and, Ranveer Singh have also observed silence.
