Michael Slater All Praise For Haider Ali, Also Suggests PSL 5 Winner

The list of former cricketers who are becoming impressed with Peshawar Zalmi’s youngster, Haider Ali, keeps getting longer.

Now it’s Former Australian cricketer and current commentator, Michael Slater, who has showered praise on Haider Ali. Michael Slater, who was among the Pakistan Super League’s commentary panel, predicted seeing him play in the upcoming T20I world cup in Australia later this year.

“Haider Ali is a player of the future and he cut the mustard this year in PSL, despite big players around him. Some players get daunted by this but that was not the case with Ali as he loved the big stage. I also see him as Pakistan’s World Cup player later this year,” Michael Slater said.

Furthermore, Michael Slater also termed Pakistan’s talent to be as top notch as the rest of the team’s but he emphasized on nurturing this talent. The top cricket commentator also noticed that Pakistan’s players are working hard on their fitness and are trying to be good athletes.

“It was a terrific tournament and I was honoured to be in Pakistan. We nearly got there but unfortunately the event was ended prematurely due to COVID-19,” he said while narrating his experience of visiting Pakistan.

“The country was jumping and the atmosphere was just amazing.”

Regarding the winner of this year’s PSL, Slater advised to give the title to the table toppers, Multan Sultans, since it would be difficult to play the final “due to the tight calendar and availability of players.

“We did the same in domestic tournaments here in Australia.”
