The drama serial Jalan, a venture of Big Bang Entertainment, starring Minal Khan, is currently airing on ARY Digital.

Both critics and the audience are highly appreciating Minal Khan’s acting in Jalan. However, the storyline of the drama is basically attracting hate.

Jalan’s plot features a girl who is hitting on her brother-in-law. This narrative is garnering a lot of dislike and hatred because people disapprove of the concept the drama is promoting in Pakistani society.

In a recent interview, Minal Khan spoke about the backlash her character Nisha in Jalan is receiving:

If I say I were not expecting the backlash, I would be lying. I anticipated it because you guys know about the story and know about our society. I knew Nisha would affect my Personal life. People would bash me personally.

Minal Khan further stated:

Regardless of the things I have heard, I used to say that it is okay. All this hate means that I portrayed my character in Jalan so well that people are compelled to think that I am like that in person.

While talking to the media outlet about Jalan, Minal went on to draw lines between her character on-screen and her personal life:

I have a sister too, but we are not like Misha and Nisha. We are Aiman and Minal, but people think otherwise. Like Nisha, I have a brother-in-law, so you can imagine the comments I have received. Some people say that I will do the same with Muneeb. Many say that Aimen should hide Muneeb from me. He is my brother-in-law, and I am not Nisha. I am Minal.
