Mineral water brands that have been declared unsafe by PCRWR

According to the Pakistan Council for Research and Water Resources (PCRWR) report, 102 samples of mineral water gathered from different brands. Samples are collected from Islamabad, Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and other cities.
Brands with a higher presence of sodium
Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) revealed that six brands are found unsafe due to more presence of sodium ranging from 64-250 mg/liter than PSQCA water quality standard for sodium, which is 50 mg/liter.

Brands that have a low amount of pH
According to the PCRWR report, four brands are found unsafe due to the presence of a low pH level.

- Aqua Drop,
- Aqua Ayolam
Karakorum Flow and Top Up are found with bacteria and Livon with high levels of fluoride.
PCRWR stated that the crude quality of drinking water has forced a large number of pupils to buy bottled mineral water. Due to the massive demand for water, the bottled water industry in the country expanded mushroom growth for the last few years.
To improve the quality of Mineral water, the government has assigned the task Ministry of Science and Technology and PCRWR for quarterly monitoring of the mineral water brands and publicize the results. So the nation is aware of what they are drinking.
