The Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) is launching a public awareness campaign related to child abuse in Pakistan. The Pakistani singer and social activist, Shahzad Roy, will be a part of the campaign.

A press release was issued yesterday, which stated that the campaign would be based on digital platforms to reach the maximum number of people.

The Pakistan Electronic media has issued notifications to relevant authorities to showcase the campaign free of cost as a public service message across all the digital media channels.

Child abuse is rampant in Pakistan. Zero to minimum jurisdictions are available to protect the child abuse victims. Over the past few months, considerable cases of severe child abuse and exploitation have surfaced. Other incidents include accounts of many young children dying over trivial mistakes at the hands of their employers.

The Federal Minister of Human Rights, Shirin Mazari, stated:

The government has finally decided to protect children, wherein the first step includes bringing an end to the children’s employment as domestic workers.

The Human Rights Organizations are now on the forefront and are undertaking much-needed change in the country.
