Missing Saudi Man found dead in the desert while in Sajdah

The body of Dhuwaihi Hamoud Al Ajaleen, who got missing on Thursday, was found amid sand dunes in a desert.

A 40-year-old Saudi man, who went missing from his home in Wadi Al Dawasir in the Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia, has been found dead while he was in sajdah (prostration) position, Saudi media reported.

The body of Dhuwaihi Hamoud Al Ajaleen, who got missing on Thursday, was found amid sand dunes in a desert on Sunday morning after almost three days of exhaustive search.

The man’s family lodged a missing person report with the Wadi Al Dawasir police after losing contact with him. The rescuing teams started a wide-scale search to find Al Ajaleen, who was driving a pickup truck.

The Ghawth search teams then boosted the search for Al Ajalin using four-wheel-drive vehicles and gliders to enlarge the scope in the rough areas & sand dunes. Then, his body was found a few meters away from his car.

One of the activists posted a video of finding the deceased, saying, “When harm and certainty touched him, he prostrated to Allah and died while he was prostrating. Conciliation, certainty, guidance, and steadfastness upon death, coming to Allah in the best condition and inspiring what he died. May Allah have mercy on him and the Muslims that have passed away.”

The truck was laden with sticks, in a sign that the man was gathering wood for his family when he went missing.

People have pointed out that the deceased went in search of wood into the desert as he was poor and in desperate need of money to feed his family.

Prayers emerged into social media platforms after the video went viral.

People on social media also shared tips on what to do if one is stuck in the desert.
