Modern Radar System Installed at the Major Airports of the Country

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has installed a modern S Radar system at key international airports in Pakistan.

The modern radar system has been installed following a formal nod by the executive committee of the CAA for the Air Navigation Plan 2025. In the first phase, Karachi and Islamabad airport have got two and four radar systems respectively.

Recently, in line with the international aviation regulations, the CAA doubled its airspace routes from 7 to 14. The authority also expects an increase of 25-30% in the revenue following the recent development.

Moreover, the number of flights coming from  Europe, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Gulf countries is also expected to increase. The new air navigation plan will also focus on equipping major airports with modern technology.

In recent months, the country’s foreign tourism sector also witnessed a sharp increase. To further promote tourism in the country, the incumbent government also decided to expand the on-Arrival visa facility to 25 more countries taking the total tally to 50.

Earlier this year the groundbreaking of Pakistan’s largest airport, Gwadar International Airport, was performed by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Gwadar International Airport will be completed within three years at the cost of US$256million.
